Gold is a very soft yet dense metal. Its elemental symbol is AU which comes from the Greek for “Sunshine Glow”.
Gold has some strange and unique physical properties that make it very valuable. One once of gold can be stretched into a strand almost 50 miles in length. Gold is very electrically and thermally conducive. One more fact, gold doesn’t oxidize or “Rust”.
Gold is scare although not the scarcest on the planet. The earth holds roughly 5.5 billion ounces of gold total.
